dc.descriptionThis article aims to present Marxist sociologist and philosopher Michael Löwy's perspective on the revolutionary praxis of socialist José Carlos Mariátegui. To achieve this, the first section provides an exposition of the most important aspects of Michael Löwy's intellectual and political trajectory, according to certain social processes or events that occurred during the second half of the 20th century. The following section presents a synthesis of what Löwy calls the "revolutionary period" (1920-1930) of Marxism in Latin America, based on one of his essays on the topic. The article then explores the contributions of José Carlos Mariátegui, whom Löwy considers the most prominent Marxist of the period. Löwy's central thesis, the romantic Marxism of Mariátegui, is explained. Finally, the article concludes by highlighting the importance of Löwy's contribution to the praxis of this revolutionary intellectual.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo busca presentar la mirada que tiene el sociólogo y filósofo marxista Michael Löwy sobre la praxis revolucionaria del socialista José Carlos Mariátegui. Para esto, en un primer apartado se hará una exposición de los aspectos más importantes de la trayectoria intelectual y política de Michael Löwy, de acuerdo a ciertos procesos o acontecimientos sociales producidos en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. En otro apartado se hará una síntesis de lo que Löwy denomina el “periodo revolucionario” (1920-1930) del marxismo en América Latina, a partir de uno de sus ensayos sobre el tema. Seguido, pasaremos a exponer los aportes de quien Löwy considera el marxista más destacado del periodo: José Carlos Mariátegui. A continuación, explicaremos la tesis central que nos propone Löwy: el marxismo romántico de Mariátegui. Finalmente, sustentaremos algunas ideas de cierre en forma de conclusiones, donde resaltaremos la importancia del aporte que hace Löwy sobre la praxis de este intelectual revolucionario.es-ES
