| dc.description | Awareness of violence as the driving force of history has come to transform artistic practices. Among these transformations, sculpture has put its disciplinary foundation in crisis, which is the monument and the commemorative will. And not only as an intradisciplinary reflection, restricted to the world of the arts, but also in response to recent social movements that have given good account of a distancing from the monument as an Enlightenment device whose object is the materialization of an official history. Thus, the memorial is constituted as a path that contrasts with the classic monument, establishing a way of building a different link not only with history, incorporating the stories of the brutality with which human rights have been violated, but also with the community, which has expressed the need for representation of those absent bodies, massacred and disappeared due to political violence. | en-US |
| dc.description | La conciencia sobre la violencia como motor de la historia ha venido a transformar las prácticas artísticas. Entre dichas transformaciones, la escultura ha puesto en crisis su fundamento disciplinar, cual es el monumento y la voluntad conmemorativa. Y no tan solo como una reflexión intradisciplinar, restringida al mundo de las artes, sino también en atención a los recientes movimientos sociales que han dado buena cuenta de un distanciamiento respecto del monumento en tanto dispositivo iluminista cuyo objeto es la materialización de una historia oficial. Así, el memorial se constituye como un camino que se contrapone al monumento clásico, estableciendo una manera de construir un vínculo distinto no solo con la historia, incorporando los relatos de la brutalidad con que se han ultrajado los derechos humanos, sino también con la comunidad, que ha expresado la necesidad de representación de esos cuerpos ausentes, masacrados y desaparecidos por la violencia política. | es-ES |
