Ethnographic approaches to musical networks of female music workers in Chile: the TRAMUS case

| dc.description | This article analyses the extent to which the Chilean protests that began in 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic have reconfigured the socio-technical networks connecting gender, music and technology. Based on digital ethnography, this study explores how digital information technologies have impacted the musical and organizational practices of female music workers. Specifically, the research involved monitoring and systematically recording the activities of the Chilean Network of Women Music Workers - Women and Dissidence (TRAMUS) on various digital platforms in 2020 and 2021, as well as 21 semi-structured interviews with members of the network. The analysis highlights how the deployment of technologies related to digital environments has facilitated the development of collaborative practices and mutual support among female music workers. These connections have allowed the construction of a collective feminist imaginary oriented towards a technological activism that seeks to influence social policy in order to eradicate the gender gaps that still exist in the music sector. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar en qué medida el contexto postestallido social y la pandemia en Chile han reconfigurado los ensamblajes sociotécnicos entre género, música y tecnología. A partir de una etnografía digital se ha indagado en cómo las tecnologías de información digitales han impactado en las prácticas musicales y organizativas de las trabajadoras de la música. En concreto, se ha hecho seguimiento y registro sistematizado de las actividades realizadas, durante los años 2020 y 2021, por la Red Chilena de Trabajadoras de la Música - Mujeres y Disidencias (TRAMUS) en diversas plataformas digitales y se han realizado 21 entrevistas semiestructuradas a integrantes de la red. El análisis ha puesto de relieve cómo el despliegue tecnológico relacionado con los entornos digitales ha favorecido la emergencia de prácticas colaborativas y de apoyo mutuo entre las trabajadoras de la música. Estos vínculos han permitido la construcción de todo un imaginario colectivo de carácter feminista tendente a un activismo tecnológico digital que busca incidir en la política social, para erradicar las brechas de género, todavía existentes, en el sector de la música. | es-ES |
