| dc.description | This article deals with the modality of territorial colonization and conformation of land ownership around the city of Concepción starting in 1550. The process of assigning encomiendas and different types of land grants is documented, analyzing unpublished data from Hispanic and mapuche agents who participated, negotiated, and implemented the Spanish legal frameworks during this period. Parallel processes have been verified in connection to the founding of other cities in the southern center of the Chilean territory. The article provides a first sequence of construction of colonial territoriality around the city of Concepción, distinguishing the legal instruments used by different local government entities (town council), governors, religious, neighbors and mapuche political authorities and representatives of the King, and its concrete geographic-spatial expression. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo aborda la modalidad de colonización territorial y conformación de la propiedad de la tierra en torno a la ciudad de Concepción a partir de 1550. Se documenta el proceso de asignación de encomiendas y distintos tipos de mercedes de tierra, analizando datos inéditos sobre agentes hispanos y mapuche que participan, negocian e implementan los marcos jurídicos indianos durante este periodo. Se verifican procesos paralelos debido a la fundación otras ciudades en el centro sur de la gobernación de Chile. El artículo aporta una primera secuencia de construcción de la territorialidad colonial en torno a la ciudad de Concepción, distinguiendo los instrumentos jurídicos utilizados por distintas entidades de gobierno local (Cabildo), gobernadores, religiosos, vecinos y autoridades políticas mapuche y representantes del rey, y su expresión geográfico-espacial concreta. | es-ES |
