dc.description	This article analyzes how the difficult relations between the European Union and Venezuela are affected by the politicization of the Venezuelan diaspora. Specifically, it aims to demonstrate how the Venezuelan diaspora in Spain, and especially in Madrid, constitutes an electoral bloc for the Spanish right wing, as it shares with these political parties’ stringent positions regarding the relations with Caracas. Given the substantial worsening of EU-Venezuela relations after the death of Hugo Chávez and since the government of Nicolás Maduro, it is possible to connect this context with the role played by the Venezuelan diaspora, and the opposition, at European level.	en-US
dc.description	En este artículo se analiza cómo las difíciles relaciones entre la Unión Europea y Venezuela se ven afectadas por la politización de la diáspora venezolana. Concretamente, se pretende demostrar cómo la diáspora venezolana en España, y sobre todo en Madrid, constituye un bloque electoral para la derecha española, al compartir con esas fuerzas políticas unas posiciones severas con respecto a las relaciones con Caracas. Dado el sustancial deterioro de las relaciones entre la UE y Venezuela luego de la muerte de Hugo Chávez y a partir del gobierno de Nicolás Maduro, es posible conectar dicha relación con el papel a nivel europeo jugado por la diáspora y la oposición venezolana.	es-ES
