dc.description	The aim of this paper is to show the complexity and heterogeneity among the black and mulatto population, free or slave, in 18th century Santiago, through the daily life of Blasa Díaz, a free brown-skinned woman. Her social bleaching process gives us clues about her life, the internal dynamics of urban slavery and also about the society in which she lived.	en-US
dc.description	El objetivo de este artículo es demostrar la complejidad y heterogeneidad entre la población negra y mulata, libre o esclava, en Santiago del siglo XVIII, a través de la vida cotidiana de Blasa Díaz, parda libre. Su proceso de blanqueamiento social nos entrega claves sobre su vida, la dinámica interna de la esclavitud urbana y también acerca de la sociedad en que desarrolló su existencia.	es-ES
