La electrificación de la primera zona ferroviaria Valparaíso-Santiago, incluyendo el ferrocarril trasandino, significó para la empresa de transporte estatal una enorme transformación por la magnitud del cambio que se llevó a efecto, e implicó realizar ajustes y variaciones en su administración y políticas. Estos no solo se experimentaron en el área técnica por la adaptación a una nueva tracción y en el área administrativa, sino que también en el aspecto humano de la empresa al ser necesario personal calificado para el trabajo, lo que podríamos resumir en las siguientes palabras: “a nuevos implementos, nuevos conocimientos”.The electrification of the First Railway Zone Valparaíso-Santiago, including the trans-Andean railway, brought a great transformation to the state transport company due to the magnitude of the change that took place. It also implied making adjustments and variations in its management and policies which were not only experienced in the administrative area and in the technical area (due to the adaptation to a new traction). Since qualified personnel was needed for the work, the human aspect of the company was also affected. We could summarise this in the following words: “new knowledge for new tools”.
