dc.descriptionA sermon by Franciscan friar Andrés Olmos about the sin of lust is analysed in the context of the Christian evangelisation of New Spain (16th century). The hypothesis in this paper focuses on the fact that the native people who were being evangelised showed little or no receptivity towards the aforementioned discourse. The starting point for this hypothesis are the similarities and differences between the Christian and Náhuatl interpretations of the symbols used by Olmos.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el marco de la evangelización cristiana en Nueva España (siglo XVI) se analiza una prédica del fraile franciscano Andrés Olmos, referida al pecado de lujuria. La hipótesis de este artículo se centra en la recepción infructuosa de dicho discurso por parte de los indígenas en proceso de evangelización, a partir de semejanzas y diferencias entre la interpretación cristiana y náhuatl de los símbolos empleados por Olmos.es-ES
