The effects that, on the objectives of the publication of the water resource, have produced the changes in the configuration of the right of water use are analyzed. For this, the temporality of the right, the prioritization of the use of water for human consumption and sanitation, the obligation to register, the effective use of water and the environmental variable incorporated into the right of use are studied, under the orbit of the concept of the public interest incorporated, recently, in the legislation.Se analizan los efectos que, sobre los objetivos de la publificación del recurso hídrico, han producido los cambios en la configuración del derecho de aprovechamiento de aguas. Para ello se estudian la temporalidad del derecho, la priorización del uso de las aguas para el consumo humano y el saneamiento, la obligación de inscribir, el uso efectivo de las aguas y la variable ambiental incorporada al derecho de aprovechamiento, bajo la órbita del concepto del interés público incorporado, recientemente, en la legislación.
