dc.descriptionObjective.  The purpose of this Review of secondary studies was to carry out an investigation that integrates all 3 existing scientific evidence on the role of work stress in the occurrence of some psuchiatric disorders suchs as depression and burnout; and others such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, obesity, low back pain and bowel disease. Methodology. With the Keywords, Pubmed was searched for systematic reviews, of primary studies with a cohort or case-control design that had evaluated the association between job strain and differents pathologies. In addition to the analytical design, it was taken into account that the psychosocial risk factor had been evaluated using validated methodologies, and that the outcome variable (disease or consequence) was taken from hospital records or reliable clinical evaluations. Results. 13 systematic Reviews were found that evaluated the association between work stress and the differents pathologies: 5 integrative studies that evaluated the association of work stress with cardiovascular disease, 2 on the association with Burnout, 2 reviews on the association with Depression, one that evaluated the association of stress with stroke, 2 studies that evaluated the possible association with obesity. From the association of work stress with Irritable bowel, Low back pain and stroke, a systematic review of each one was found.  Conclusions.  Evidence was found for the association between work stress and depression, burnout and cardiovascular disease. No evidence of association between work stress and Low back pain, irritable bowel or obesity was found.en-US
dc.descriptionObjetivo. La finalidad de esta revisión de estudios secundarios, fue realizar una investigación que integrara la evidencia científica sobre el papel del estrés del trabajo en la ocurrencia de algunos trastornos psiquiátricos como la depresión y el burnout; y otras como la patología cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, obesidad, lumbalgia e intestino irritable. Metodología.  Con las palabras clave, se buscó en Pubmed, revisiones sistemáticas, de estudios primarios con diseño de cohorte o casos y controles que hubieran evaluado la asociación entre estrés laboral con las diferentes patologías. Además del diseño analítico, se tuvo en cuenta que el factor de riesgo psicosocial se hubiera evaluado mediante metodologías validadas, y que la variable de resultado se tomara de los registros hospitalarios o de las evaluaciones clínicas confiables. Resultados. Se encontraron 13 revisiones sistemáticas que evaluaran la asociación entre estrés laboral y las diferentes patologías: 4 estudios integrativos que evaluaban la asociación del estrés laboral con enfermedad cardiovascular, 2 sobre la asociación con burnout, 2 revisiones sobre la asociación con depresión, uno que evaluó la asociación del estrés con enfermedad cerebro vascular, 2 estudios que evaluaron la posible asociación con obesidad. De la asociación del estrés laboral con intestino irritable, lumbago y enfermedad cerebro vascular, se encontró una revisión sistemática de cada uno. Conclusiones. Se encontró evidencia para la asociación entre estrés del trabajo y depresión, burnout y enfermedad cardiovascular.  De la asociación entre estrés laboral y enfermedad cerebro vascular se encontró evidencia positiva solo en hombres.es-ES
