| dc.description | This work presents the current debate in Philosophy ofMathematics from the persperctive ofBenacerra·s structuralist stance. The view defended by Benacerraf is that what is importand about numbers is not thein indetification with sorne or other determinate object, but how they are related within a structure. First, the structuralist criticism of Benacerraf to the platonistic thesis defended by Frege and Russell (by which numbers are construed as objects) is evaluated. Then, the work will consider the platonistic- empiriscist solution put forward by Quine and Putnam, known as the "indispensabilíty argument". The paper finishes with Maddy·s criticism to the indispernsability argument. | en-US |
| dc.description | El articulo introduce al actual debate sobre filosofia de la matemática, a partir de la postura estructuralista de Benacerraf. La postura que intenta defender Benacerraf es que lo importante de los números no es su identificación con algún objeto determinado, sino más bien cómo se relacionan éstos dentro de una estructura determinada. Primero se evaluará la salida estructuralista de Benacerrnf con respecto a su critica de la tesis platónica de los números defendida por Frege y Russell, que interpreta los números como objeto. También evaluaremos la solución platónica empirista Quine Putnam, en el llamado argumento de la indispensabilidad. Finalmente, terminaremos con la critica de Maddy a dicho argumento. | es-ES |
