The historiography of the XIX century and the first half of the XX century judged the Greek City history in the IV century B.C. as one of"Decadence" or irrecoverable "Crisis" that resulted at the end of Greek independence. However, if the fonts of the age are reviewed, a such notion is not found - at least, not in the manner in which it is usually alleged.La historiografia del siglo XIX y primera mitad del XX visualizó la historia de la ciudad griega en el siglo IV a.c. como una de "decadencia" o "crisis" irrecuperable, que desembocaba necesariamente en el fin de la independencia griega. Sin embargo, si se revisan las fuentes de la época, semejante noción no se encuentra; por lo menos no de la manera que ha sido tradicional presentarla.
