This article analyzes from a comparative perspective two cinematographic productions: the French documentary Visages Villages (2017) co-directed by Agnès Varda and photographer JR, and the feature film Medianeras (2011) by Argentinian director Gustavo Taretto. The paper suggests that both films record and narrate, through audiovisual means, stories in which human agency loses its pre-eminence over other agencies. This happens not only as a theme at a narrative level, but also at the level of the materialities of both film and the documentary, understood as technologies of the image. By presenting human and more-than-human encounters and by exploring the vitality of the inorganic, these films show the presence of coactants bodies, imperceptible affects and expressive forces that arise from filming as a relational process.Este artículo propone un análisis comparado de dos obras cinematográficas: el documental francés Visages Villages (2017), codirigido por Agnès Varda junto al fotógrafo JR y el largometraje Medianeras (2011), del director argentino Gustavo Taretto. El escrito aborda el análisis desde la hipótesis de que ambos films registran y relatan, por medios audiovisuales, historias en las que lo humano pierde su preeminencia sobre otras agencias. Esto no ocurriría solo como tema a nivel narrativo, sino también a nivel de las materialidades del film y del documental, entendiendo estos como tecnologías de la imagen. Al presentar encuentros humanos y más-que-humanos y al explorar la vitalidad de lo inorgánico, los films  evidencian la presencia de cuerpos coactantes, de afectos imperceptibles y de fuerzas expresivas que emergen del rodaje como proceso relacional.
