The main objective of this article is to analyze Michel Leiris' diaristic work as the result of a writing situated in the dense lands of subjectivity. Making use of his field diary, the text addresses the reflections that the French writer delivered regarding European colonialism in the framework of an anthropological expedition that crossed the African continent in the first half of the twentieth century. In addition, the manuscript emphasizes his dream diary, before and after the Dakar-Djibouti mission (1931-1933), as a valuable literary resource for a better understanding of his ethnographic work. Finally, the essay also wishes to highlight the role played by the research trip to Africa in Leiris's thinking about colonial discourse, taking for this purpose the point of view of his intimate diary.El objetivo principal del presente artículo es analizar la obra diarística de Michel Leiris como el resultado de una escritura situada en las densas tierras de la subjetividad. Haciendo uso de su diario de campo, el texto aborda las reflexiones que el escritor francés entregó respecto al colonialismo europeo en el marco de una expedición antropológica que cruzó el continente africano en la primera mitad del siglo XX. Además, el manuscrito coloca énfasis en su diario de sueños, antes y después de la misión Dakar-Yibuti (1931-1933), como un recurso literario de gran valor para un mejor entendimiento de su trabajo etnográfico. Por último, el ensayo desea igualmente poner en evidencia el papel que desempeñó el viaje de investigación a África en el pensamiento de Leiris respecto al discurso colonial, tomando para ello el punto de vista de su diario íntimo.
