dc.descriptionThe Greek playwright Iákovos Kambanellis published in 1965 the prose chronicle Mauthausen. The book recounts his experience in the Nazi concentration camp where he was imprisoned between 1943 and 1945. The work is the result of a long creative process that lasted from his liberation from the camp and his return to Greece until 1995, the date of the book’s second edition. This paper examines this writing process and its different phases, and analyses some related motifs from a comparative point of view: the role of memory, the condition of the survivor as a witness, the moral imperative to bear witness, and the question of truth and fiction. All of them are essential themes in Holocaust Literature.en-US
dc.descriptionEl dramaturgo griego Iákovos Kambanelis publicó en 1965 la crónica en prosa Mauthausen, que recoge su experiencia en el campo de concentración nazi donde fue prisionero entre 1943 y 1945. La obra es fruto de un largo proceso creativo que se extendió desde la liberación del campo y su regreso a Grecia hasta 1995, fecha de la segunda edición del libro. En este trabajo se estudia este proceso de escritura y sus distintas fases y se analizan desde un punto de vista comparativo algunos motivos relacionados con él: el papel de la memoria, la condición del superviviente como testigo, el imperativo moral de dejar testimonio, o la cuestión de la verdad y la ficción, todos ellos temas esenciales en los textos del corpus de la literatura concentracionaria.es-ES
