dc.descriptionChile's trade policy has been a cornerstone of its economic development model, enabling the country to overcome the limitations of its domestic market through international integration. This article examines Chile's trade integration strategy over the period 1973-2023, identifying the key milestones and transformations in its trade policy. Through a historical and methodological approach, the analysis covers the evolution from the neoliberal reforms of the 1970s to the current era of deep trade agreements and global trade fragmentation. It also delves into four key agreements: the Free Trade Agreement with the United States, the Free Trade Agreement with China, the Association Agreement with the European Union, and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. Finally, this study assesses the achievements, limitations, and structural challenges of Chile's trade integration, offering valuable lessons for developing economies seeking sustainable and diversified integration into the global economy.en-US
dc.descriptionLa política comercial de Chile ha sido un pilar fundamental de su modelo de desarrollo económico, permitiendo al país superar las limitaciones de su mercado interno mediante una inserción internacional progresiva. Este artículo analiza la estrategia de integración comercial de Chile en el período 1973-2023, identificando los principales hitos y transformaciones en su política comercial. A través de un enfoque histórico y metodológico, se examina la evolución desde las reformas neoliberales de los años 70 hasta la actual etapa de acuerdos profundos y fragmentación comercial global. Además, se analizan cuatro acuerdos clave: el Tratado de Libre Comercio con Estados Unidos, el Tratado de Libre Comercio con China, el Acuerdo de Asociación con la Unión Europea y el Tratado Integral y Progresista de Asociación Transpacífico. Finalmente, este trabajo evalúa los logros, limitaciones y desafíos estructurales de la inserción comercial chilena, proporcionando lecciones relevantes para economías en desarrollo que buscan integrarse a la economía global de manera sostenible y diversificada.es-ES
