Multi-subject legislation presents challenges that can be examined from a dual perspective. On the one hand, it may involve procedural flaws in the legislative process, if the democratic principle has been violated; on the other hand, it reflects poor legislative drafting techniques and jeopardize the principle of legal certainty. To analyze this phenomenon, the various categories it encompasses will be studied and some practical examples will be reviewed. Additionally, there will be an in-depth exploration of the applicable regulations, particularly those related to the core provisions. Lastly, the aforementioned drawbacks and their potential impact on the validity of legal norms will be further examined.Las leyes de contenido heterogéneo suponen dificultades que podrían examinarse desde una doble perspectiva. Por una parte, pueden envolver vicios del procedimiento legislativo, si durante su tramitación se ha transgredido el principio democrático y; por otra, son manifestación de una incorrecta técnica legislativa y ponen en riesgo el principio de seguridad jurídica. Para analizar este fenómeno se estudiarán las distintas categorías que engloban y se revisarán algunos ejemplos prácticos. Asimismo, se profundizará en la normativa aplicable, especialmente, en aquella referida a las ideas matrices o fundamentales. Por último, se ahondará en los inconvenientes antes mencionados y en su eventual incidencia en la validez de la regulación legal.
