This article aims to emphasize the relevance of a minor tradition within aesthetic reflection that has attempted to think about rhythm beyond the pattern of sequentialtime, as an intensive power capable of contaminating the variability of the temporal flow and the staticity of the form. Within this tradition, the dichotomy of image and sound, of figure and movement becomes ineffective, and the gap opens to consider rhythm as a configurative power. Passing through Chladni, Novalis, Benveniste and Tarkowski, the article attempts to indicate the stakesof a visual consideration of rhythm and to indicate the features for an aesthetic capable of overcoming the dichotomy of figure and sound.El presente artículo pretende subrayar la relevancia de una tradición menor en la reflexión estética que ha intentado pensar el ritmo más allá del patrón del tiempo secuencial, como una potencia intensiva capaz de contaminar la variabilidad del flujo temporal y la estaticidad de la forma. En esta tradición, se vuelve inoperante la dicotomía de imagen y sonido, de figura y movimiento, y se abre la brecha para considerar el ritmo como potencia con-figurativa. Pasando por Chladni, Novalis, Benveniste y Tarkowski, el artículo indica las apuestas de una consideración visual del ritmo y los rasgos para una estética capaz de superar la dicotomía de figura y sonido.
