| dc.description | During the political transition from the end of the dictatorship to the return of democracy, there were social changes and processes, among which the emergenceof memory, driven by human rights organizations, stands out. In this context, after the dictatorship, heritage began to acquire a new character, leading to the development of human rights and memory heritage. This evoked counter-narratives and produced a change in the way heritage had been understood before the return to democracy, both in the valuation of new attributes and in the inclusion of civil society as a promoter in the requests for patrimonialization. In this context, the present article seeks to analyze how memory, through its uses and functions in the production of space, plays a role in the transition over urban heritage in the post-dictatorial city, with the Sitio de Memoria ex Fuerte El Morro, in the commune of Talcahuano, as a case study. It is argued that the declaration of El Morro as a historical monument represents a re-signification of the space, which has shifted from being a non-place to becoming a site of memory, a transition understood within the context of difficult heritage. | en-US |
| dc.description | Durante el proceso de transición política, del fin de la dictadura a la vuelta de la democracia, ocurrieron cambios y procesos sociales entre los que destaca la aparición de la memoria impulsada por las organizaciones de derechos humanos. En este contexto, el patrimonio empieza a adquirir un nuevo carácter, lo que dio lugar a un patrimonio de los derechos humanos y la memoria. Esto evocó contra narrativas y produjo un cambio en la forma en que se habían comprendido los objetos patrimoniales hasta antes del retorno a la democracia, tanto en la valoración de nuevos atributos como en la inclusión de la sociedad civil como promotora en las solicitudes de patrimonialización. A partir de esto, el presente artículo busca analizar de qué manera la memoria, a través de sus usos y funciones en la producción del espacio, juega un rol en la transición del patrimonio urbano en la ciudad postdictatorial, con el Sitio de Memoria ex Fuerte El Morro, en la comuna de Talcahuano, Chile, como caso de estudio. Se sostiene que la declaración de El Morro como monumento histórico representa una resignificación del espacio, que ha pasado de ser un no-lugar a convertirse en un sitio de memoria, cuyo tránsito se comprende dentro del contexto de un patrimonio difícil. | es-ES |
