This document aims to point out, the importance it will be for the Ministry of education (Mineduc) to countwith updated geospatial information on a permanent basis, as relevant data on the location of educationalestablishmentn in the territory. Above all, in the context of the new law of inclusion and the draft law onnew public education (NEP), with the benefits it would bring by having a basic institutional framework toaddress the possible growth of educational establshments, as a result of the implementation of the law N °20.845/2015, which regulates the admission of students, eliminating shared financing and prohibiting schoolsfrom profiting which receive resources from the State. This law changes the current one to authorize thecreation of new schools, since it will require every ministerial Secretary of education (SEREMI) to study firstthe teritory where it will be authorised the creation of new schools, which it will give more enhacement andsense to start up local services determined by NEP (New Pulic Education)El presente documento tiene como objetivo señalar la importancia que tendría para el Ministerio de Educación(MINEDUC) contar con información geoespacial actualizada de manera permanente reconociendo laubicación de establecimientos educacionales en el territorio. Sobre todo, en el contexto de la nueva ley deinclusión y del proyecto de ley sobre nueva educación pública (NEP), en donde se analizan los beneficios quese aportarían al contar con un marco institucional básico para enfrentar la eventual crecida de establecimientoseducacionales, como consecuencia de la puesta en marcha de la Ley N°20.845/2015 que regula la admisiónde los y las estudiantes, eliminando el financiamiento compartido y prohibiendo el lucro en establecimientoseducacionales que reciben aportes del Estado. La norma de esta ley cambia la actual forma utilizada paraautorizar la creación de nuevos colegios, ya que exigirá a cada secretaría ministerial de educación (SEREMI)estudiar primeramente el territorio donde se autorizaría la creación de un nuevo centro educativo, lo quecobraría mayor realce y sentido con la puesta en marcha de los servicios locales determinados por la NEP.
