dc.description	For the author, in order to respond to the unmet demand for safety, it is necessary to escape the circuit insecurity- repression-greater insecure-greater repression, and redefine security so that it can go beyond the sphere of criminality and identify it with freedom. She argues that the strategies of urban safety management should be bridges to the meeting of opposing citizen interests, through tireless mediation. Throughout the article the author covers the main thoughts on the issue, such as the relationship between insecurity and crime, between welfare state and penal state, and of the security market, among others.	en-US
dc.description	Para la autora, a fin de dar respuesta a la demanda insatisfecha de seguridad, es preciso escapar del circuito inseguridad-represión-mayor inseguridad-mayor represión, y redefinir la seguridad de manera que desborde la esfera de lo criminal y se identifique con la libertad. Sostiene que las estrategias de gestión de la seguridad urbana deberían ser puentes para el encuentro de intereses ciudadanos enfrentados, a través de una mediación incansable. A lo largo del artículo recorre las principales reflexiones en el tema, tales como la relación entre inseguridad y criminalidad, la relación entre Estado social y Estado penal y el mercado de la seguridad, entre otros.	es-ES
