dc.descriptionThis article disputes on the role of social science in the historical evolution of our societies. The cyclic history of revolutions is as well the cyclic history of deconstruction of social science. In recent history, the events that have taken place in the world during the eighties and the first part of the nineties has expossed the weakness of progressist social science to understand the questions and problems of our reality. From this context emerges a debate, which will have its main expression en the Declaration about Science and the use of scientific knowledge approved in the World Conference about Science for the XXI century: a new compromise which took place in Budapest  in 1999, on the necessity to give a new direction to tecnology and natural sciences, but also social science, so it can promote, from a critical view, to the building of a better world.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo discute el papel que la ciencia social ha jugado en la evolución histórica de nuestras sociedades. La historia cíclica de las revoluciones es la historia cíclica de la deconstrucción-construcción de la Ciencia Social. En la actualidad, los acontecimientos ocurridos en el mundo durante la década de los ochenta e inicios de los noventa, pusieron al descubierto la debilidad de la ciencia social progresista para entender los interrogantes y problemáticas de nuestra realidad De este contexto surge un debate, que tendrá su manifestación principal en la Declaración sobre la Ciencia y el uso del saber científico aprobada en la Conferencia Mundial sobre la Ciencia para el siglo XXI: un nuevo compromiso celebrada en Budapest en 1999, sobre la necesidad de dar una nueva dirección a la tecnología y las ciencias naturales, pero también a la ciencia social, que contribuya, desde una óptica crítica, a la construcción de un mundo mejor.es-ES
