dc.description	This article examines an uprising that occurred in the province of Chiloé in May 1826, following the annexation of the territory to the Republic of Chile. It is argued that the uprising was driven by the discontent of dissatisfied military sectors and local elites with the existing governmental organization, rather than by opposition to republican values. These sought to influence the new political project, reflecting the complexity of the political dynamics of the time.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo examina un levantamiento ocurrido en la provincia de Chiloé en mayo de 1826, tras la anexión del territorio a la República de Chile. Se argumenta que el levantamiento fue impulsado por el descontento de sectores militares disconformes y de élites locales con la organización gubernamental existente, más que por una oposición a los valores republicanos. Éstas buscaron influir en el nuevo proyecto político, reflejando la complejidad de las dinámicas políticas de la época.	es-ES
