dc.descriptionThis article deals with racial and religious discrimination against devotees of Afro-Yoruba religions, focusing on Santeria. This Cuban religion, the fruit of the diaspora, is analyzed in terms of the changes and permanence of its foundations between Nigeria and Cuba, as well as its spread to other countries through migratory processes, with an emphasis on Mexico and Argentina. The various symbologies of Iemanjá analyzed contextually, as well as the dynamics of the festivals of this orisha in these two territories, makes us reflect on transculturality, identity construction, religious expressions in the public space, their conflicts and the articulation of social movements as resistance. Religious racism and the stigmatization of Afro religions are manifestations of structural racism, rooted in society. In this way, the study aims to systematize the sources and problematize hegemonic thinking, the volatility of borders and the possibility of deconstructing them through collective action.  en-US
dc.descriptionO presente artigo aborda a discriminação racial e religiosa a devotos de religiões afro, com foco para Santeria, bem como a resistência e fortalecimento identitário. Esta religião cubana, fruto da diáspora, é analisada no que diz respeito às mudanças e permanências de fundamentos entre Nigéria e Cuba, bem como a sua difusão para outros países por meio dos processos migratórios, com ênfase para México e Argentina. As diversas simbologias de Iemanjá analisadas contextualmente, bem como as dinâmicas das festas dessa orixá nestes dois territórios, nos faz refletir a respeito da transculturalidade, construção identitária, expressões religiosas no espaço público, seus conflitos e a articulação dos movimentos sociais como resistência. O racismo religioso e a estigmatização das religiões afro, são manifestações do racismo estrutural, enraizado na sociedade. Desta forma, o estudo propõe sistematizar as fontes e problematizar o pensamento hegemônico, a volatilidade de fronteiras e a possibilidade de sua desconstrução por meio de ações coletivas.pt-BR
