dc.descriptionThis article provides a collaborative autoethnographic analysis of the practice of fasting in the month of Ramadan. Anthropological research on Islam and the life of Muslims have not sufficiently considered daily practices during fasting. In this article, the authors intend to reflexively analyze their experiences of fasting while trying to continue daily life as academics, parents, and subjects immersed in society. For these purposes, the method used was that of auto-ethnography. As will be seen, this method implies an examination of reflexivity in which the researchers' practices are put under tension to generate a coherent account of the tensions between fasting and the culture in which they unfold.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo pretende mostrar un análisis auto-etnográfico de la práctica del ayuno en el mes del Ramadán. Las investigaciones antropológicas sobre el islam y la vida de los musulmanes no han tomado suficientemente en cuenta las prácticas cotidianas durante el ayuno. Los/as autores/as pretenden analizar su propia reflexividad habiendo experimentado el ayuno y tratando de continuar con la vida cotidiana como académicos/as, padres/madres y sujetos inmersos en la sociedad. Para estos propósitos el método que se utilizó fue el de la auto-etnografía. Cómo se verá, este método implica realizar un examen de reflexividad en la que las propias prácticas de los/la investigadores/a se ponen en tensión para generar un relato coherente sobre las tensiones entre el ayuno y la cultura en las que éstas se desenvuelven.es-ES
