| dc.description | This article analyzes the speeches of different members of the “first Mapuche organizations” of the early twentieth century in La Araucanía. Its main objective is to understand the discourse of organized Mapuche women in their expressions in the Mapuche press of La Araucanía. To do so, it proposes to understand this type of texts as a) Mapuche Public Discourse and b) Gender Discourse. Through an analysis of the discourse, it is shown how women present a rich variety of political slogans ranging from the most classic of this organization such as education and integration, as well as women’s rights and organization. A novel phenomenon is revealed in its scope that in certain texts strains the patriarchy of the time, with speeches reflecting a connection with different positions where gender equality is proposed in an autonomous way to the Mapuche struggle. While others rather dispense with connecting with feminist elements, and the women’s pen is limited to adhering to guidelines more closely tied to their base organization. Despite the perception of a decline in the quality of life due to the post-war period and its colonial context, they do not directly confront the Chilean State but rather call on the personal and community agency of the Mapuche to overcome this difficult historical period. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo se analizan discursos de distintas integrantes de las “primeras organizaciones” mapuche de principios del siglo XX en La Araucanía. Su objetivo principal es conocer la discursividad de las mujeres mapuche organizadas en sus expresiones de la prensa mapuche de La Araucanía, para ello se propone entender este tipo de textos como a) Discurso Público Mapuche y b) Discurso de género. A través de un análisis del discurso se muestra cómo las mujeres presentan una rica variedad de consignas políticas que van desde las más clásicas de esta organización como educación e integración, como también los derechos y la organización de la mujer. Se revela un fenómeno novedoso en su alcance que en ciertos textos tensiona el patriarcado de la época, con discursos reflejan conexión con diferentes posicionamientos donde se propone la igualdad de género de manera autónoma a la lucha mapuche, mientras otros más bien prescinden de conectar con elementos feministas, y la pluma de las mujeres se limita a adscribir a lineamientos más ceñidos a su orgánica de base. A pesar de la percepción de un retroceso en la calidad de vida por la posguerra y su contexto de colonialidad, no confrontan directamente al Estado chileno sino más bien se llama a la agencia personal y comunitaria mapuche para superar ese difícil periodo histórico. | es-ES |
