This article examines five paradoxes to deal with the evident presence of violence in today’s world.  Crossing the borders of the public/private spheres, or rather by locating “above both”, it seems that violence is now more than ever monopoly of the State.  The situations that portray it, acting in each situation where it springs, leads to the proposition of two thesis: one, that violence is originary and intrinsic to man; and a second one, which relativizes this thesis, when law can even erase it when it erases the punishment, according to the circumstances.  From here arise two kinds of violence, crystallized in diverse facts with which intellectuals should face in order  to seek emancipation.Este artículo examina cinco paradojas para tratar la evidente presencia de la violencia en el mundo de hoy. Atravesando las fronteras de los espacios público/privado, o más bien ubicándose “por encima de ambos” parece que la violencia es más que nunca monopolio del Estado. Las situaciones que la retratan, actuando en cada coyuntura donde surge, lleva a proponer dos tesis: una, que la violencia es originaria y viene con el hombre; y una segunda, que la relativiza, cuando el derecho puede incluso borrarla al borrar la pena, según las circunstancias. De aquí surgen dos tipos de violencia cristalizadas en diversos hechos a los cuales deberían enfrentarse los intelectuales para buscar la emancipación.
