dc.description	This article focusses on the Chilean literary production and on the historical and cultural context of the XVIIIth century Spanish-American society. In order to enhance certain related tendencies of the written production of this century, we analyze in this essay some texts by Úrsula Suárez Escobar, from Santiago. The expulsion of the Jesuit Order is also considered here to contextualize the writings of Juan Ignacio Molina and Manuel Lacunza. Finally, these notes refer to Manuel de Salas, a colonial scholar whose ideas represent the European Enlighment, which will ultimately open the gates to Spanish American independence.	en-US
dc.description	Este es un artículo que enfoca la producción literaria chilena en el contexto histórico y cultural del siglo XVIII hispanoamericano. Señalando ciertas tendencias en común con otras producciones escritas en la región, como la escritura practicada por monjas en monasterios, se puntualiza aquí en los escritos de Úrsula Suárez Escobar, de Santiago. También se refi ere el artículo a la expulsión de la Compañía de Jesús de América, y en ese contexto se comentan los textos de los jesuitas chilenos Juan Ignacio Molina y Manuel Lacunza. Por último, se refi eren estas notas a Manuel de Salas, letrado colonial que asume ya las ideas de la Ilustración europea, las cuales abren camino a la independencia de las Américas.	es-ES
