Abstract
This bibliometric study addresses the relevance of energy management in the tourism sector, with the aim of mapping the scientific production related to this topic. The Scopus database and the bibliometric methodology using the R package Bibliometrix were used to analyze productivity, impact and collaboration indicators. A total of 201 articles published between 1977 and 2024 were identified, with authors Acosta A, Burnett J and Park S standing out for their prolific production and significant contributions to the field. Topics such as "energy management," "energy efficiency," "energy consumption," and "sustainability" emerge as relevant and trending research. Future lines of research include the use of deep learning algorithms for autonomous energy management systems in microgrids, and the development of systems based on the ISO 50001 standard for the hotel industry. A set of guidelines for improving energy efficiency in the tourism sector has been presented. The results obtained will be presented to energy experts, researchers and managers of the tourism sector, with the aim of promoting the implementation of sustainable and efficient energy practices in the tourism sector.
