Looking at the horror of the more than 25 millions of deaths during the First World War, it is important to mark that several hundreds of thousands of them were the consequences of the decisions made by their own armies in order to eliminate them. The purpose of this article is to reveal this phenomenon, explain the political contexts more than the military ones of such circumstances and, also, mainly, present the duty of memory and of historiographical rebuilding essential until nowadays with the intention of not leaving this in the oversight and prevent its reproduction in the future.Al contemplar el horror de los más de 25 millones de muertos provocados por la Primera Guerra Mundial, cabe señalar que varios cientos de miles de ellos fueron producto de las decisiones tomadas por sus propios ejércitos para eliminarlos. El propósito de este texto es revelar este fenómeno, explicar los contextos políticos más que militares de tales circunstancias y, también, principalmente, dar a conocer el deber de memoria y de reconstrucción historiográfica indispensable hasta el día de hoy con el propósito de no dejar esto en el olvido y, así, evitar que se reproduzca en el futuro.
