This article studies Malaparte’s political essays published between 1921 and 1925, tracing the “presence” of Russia in them. It will attempt to demonstrate that Russia and the Russian people were frequent reference points, and the author employed motifs taken from Russian history in his analysis of Italy and Europe. Furthermore, we aim to highlight that his interest in Russia was not limited to the Revolution and that references and allusions to that country can be found not only in those works published in the immediate post-war period when he held positions sympathetic to Bolshevism but also in those published after joining the Fascist movement. Finally, it will trace the origins of his interest in Russia and the potential influence that Russian intellectuals could’ve had in the development of his ideas.Este artículo aborda los ensayos políticos publicados por Curzio Malaparte entre 1921 y 1925, rastreando la presencia de Rusia en ellos. Se intentará demostrar que Rusia y su pueblo fueron frecuentes puntos de referencia, y que motivos tomados de la historia rusa fueron utilizados por el autor en su análisis de Italia y Europa. Asimismo, enfatizaremos que su interés por Rusia no se limita al período revolucionario, y que referencias y alusiones a aquel país pueden encontrarse tanto en sus escritos de la inmediata posguerra, cuando mantuvo posiciones que podrían considerarse cercanas al bolchevismo, como en aquellos posteriores a su adhesión al fascismo. Por último, intentaremos rastrear los orígenes del interés de Malaparte por Rusia y la potencial influencia de intelectuales rusos en el desarrollo de sus ideas en este período.
