dc.descriptionThe article presents records of football activity in Chile from its popularization until the implementation of a professional and stable competitivity. Also, the document reviews the literature focused on the phenomenon generated by football practice and its cultural impact on Chilean daily life. The article postulates that the massification of the sport managed to articulate a culture associated with its praxis, accompanied by the consumption of sports events. From the cultural studies perspective, this investigation links the development of the activity and the emergence of symbols that give a cultural meaning through the Estadio magazine.en-US
dc.descriptionEl articulo entrega antecedentes sobre la actividad futbolística en Chile desde su popularización hasta la implementación de una competitividad regular y profesional. Se hace un repaso por la literatura que analiza el fenómeno del balompié y su impacto cultural en la vida de los chilenos. Se postula que la masificación del fútbol logró articular una cultura vinculada a su práctica que fue acompañada del consumo de eventos deportivos. Desde una perspectiva de los estudios culturales, la investigación cruza el desarrollo de la actividad y el surgimiento de símbolos que lo significan culturalmente a través de la revista Estadio.es-ES
