We inquire into how the APSI journal contributed to the reception of political transitions in the Southern Cone during the 1977-1984 period. We posit that these processes occupied a significant position within this journal, whereby its coverage both informed and provided practical responses to issues, while also endorsing political choices aligned with the concept of 'renewed socialism.' Furthermore, it drew attention to the interplay between the Chilean political trajectory and those within the broader Southern Cone context. Subsequently, following the commencement of the Argentine transition, the journal incorporated these processes into a transitional narrative, underpinned by a novel interpretation of the concept of democracy. An interesting facet within the journal was its emphasis on the role assigned to the socialist perspective within the democratic context.Nos preguntamos cómo la revista APSI aportó a la recepción de las transiciones políticas conosureñas en el periodo 1977-1984. Planteamos que estos procesos ocuparon un lugar importante en esta revista, que mediante su cobertura informó, dio respuestas a problemas prácticos y validó opciones políticas del “socialismo renovado”. También llamó la atención sobre la relación entre el proceso político chileno y los del Cono Sur. Finalmente, tras el inicio de la transición argentina, la revista insertó los procesos en una trama transicional que usaba un nuevo significado del concepto democracia, cuya particularidad, en la revista, fue el rol que atribuyó a la perspectiva socialista en el contexto democrático.
