dc.descriptionThis research article investigates the emotional dimension of Chilean politics in the mid-1960s. By analyzing the parliamentary debate on agrarian reform and property rights reform between the Chilean political right and the Christian Democratic Party during the government of Eduardo Frei Montalva. It is hypothesized that fear was an active component and a particular type of strategy to dispute with the adversary in political and parliamentary debate. Furthermore, it is argued that there was a shared emotional normativity among some parliamentarians from both political forces, based on a particular epistemology of emotions and expressed in a set of prescriptions aimed at mitigating the predominant role of fear in political debate.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente artículo de investigación tiene por objetivo indagar en la dimensión emocional de la política chilena de mediados de la década de los sesenta. A partir del análisis del debate parlamentario sobre la reforma agraria y la reforma al derecho de propiedad entre la derecha política chilena y el Partido Demócrata Cristiano durante el gobierno de Eduardo Frei Montalva. Se sostiene como hipótesis que el miedo fue un componente activo y un tipo de estrategia particular movilizada con el fin de disputar con el adversario en el debate político y parlamentario. Además, se argumenta la existencia de una normatividad emocional compartida entre algunos parlamentarios de ambas fuerzas políticas, normatividad basada en una epistemología particular sobre las emociones y expresada en un conjunto de prescripciones que buscaban apaciguar el rol preponderante del miedo en el debate político.es-ES
