dc.descriptionAlthough developed in the 20th century, Ciro Bayo’s lexicographical work is related to important lexicographical and ideological traditions of the 19th century. The two dictionaries that will be the focus of this contribution are proof of this legacy. At the same time, Ciro Bayo is the first to pay attention to Bolivian differential vocabulary. The purpose pursued here is to develop a historical and ideological analysis of the term Bolivia[n-o/-a(s)] as used, first, in the Vocabulario criollo-español sudamericano (1910) and later in the Manual del lenguaje criollo de Centro y Sudamérica (1931). Through this analysis, it will be demonstrated that Bayo, between his first and second dictionary, makes a conceptual leap from an outdated ideological and theoretical stance to a progressive position.en-US
dc.descriptionAunque desarrollado en el siglo XX, el quehacer lexicográfico de Ciro Bayo se relaciona con tradiciones lexicográficas e ideológicas importantes del siglo XIX. Los dos diccionarios que constituirán el foco de esta contribución son un testimonio de este legado. Al mismo tiempo, Ciro Bayo es el primero en prestar atención al léxico diferencial boliviano. El propósito que aquí se perseguirá consiste en desarrollar un análisis histórico e ideológico de la marca Bolivia[n-o/-a(s)] tal y como se emplea, primero, en el Vocabulario criollo-español Sud-Americano (1910) y, posteriormente, en el Manual del lenguaje criollo de Centro y Sudamérica (1931). A través de este análisis se demostrará que Bayo, entre su primer y su segundo diccionario, da un salto conceptual desde una postura ideológica y teórica desfasada a una posición avanzada.es-ES
