The article examines capital outflows and the transnationalization of Chile’s business elites in the aftermath of the 2019 social uprising, drawing on data from the Central Bank, the Internal Revenue Service, and 26 qualitative interviews. We argue that the social unrest, the subsequent constitutional process, and the election of President Boric significantly altered the previously strong national embeddedness of business elites, pushing them toward transna­tionalization. This shift has been driven by growing political and economic uncertainty, as well as a negative perception of Chile as a safe destination for investment. The uprising triggered a process of territorial, economic, and social disengagement of business elites from the Chilean nation-state. Capital outflows and elite migration should not be seen as isolated or temporary phenomena, but rather as indicators of a deeper transformation in Chilean society.El artículo examina las salidas de capitales y la transnacionaliza­ción de las elites empresariales a raíz del estallido social de 2019, en base a datos del Banco Central, del Servicio de Impuestos Internos y de 26 entrevistas cualitativas. Argumentamos que el estallido social, el subsecuente proceso constitucional y la elección del Presidente Boric cambiaron de forma marcada el anterior arraigo nacional de las elites empresariales hacia una transnacionalización impulsada por la creciente incertidumbre política y económica, y por una percepción negativa del país como destino seguro para inversiones. El estallido gatilla un proceso de desanclaje territorial, económico y social de las elites empresariales con el Estado-nación chileno. Las salidas de capitales y las migraciones de la élite empresarial no serían fenómenos coyunturales, sino que podrían ser el signo de una transformación más profunda de la sociedad chilena.
