The aim of the present article is to examine a specific type of existential construction with haber that has not been addressed by numerous authors: that in which what is termed a predicative relative clause is included. This is exemplified by structures such as En esta urbanización hay casas que tienen chimenea when the relative clause is not interpreted as a defining relative clause. Following a review of the characteristics typically attributed to these constructions, the focus will be on the antecedent: its semantic nature, formal characteristicsand the types of nouns it admits. In the following section, the challenges associated with categorising the relative clause within these structures as either a predicative complement or a secondary predicate of a small clause will be addressed. It is evident that an alternative hypothesis of analysis will be proposed.Nuestro trabajo tiene como objeto de estudio un tipo particular de construcción existencial con haber que no ha sido tratado por muchos autores: aquel en el que se incluye lo que se denomina una subordinada de relativo predicativa. Es el caso de estructuras como En esta urbanización hay casas que tienen chimenea cuando la subordinada no se interpreta como cláusula de relativo especificativa. Una vez revisadas las características que se le atribuyen habitualmente a estas construcciones, centraremos nuestra atención, primero, en el antecedente: naturaleza semántica, características formales y tipos de sustantivos que admite. Posteriormente, abordaremos las dificultades que supone catalogar la subordinada de relativo de estas estructuras como complemento predicativo o predicado secundario de una cláusula reducida. Obviamente, propondremos una hipótesis de análisis alternativa.
