Abstract
El Servicio Nacional de Menores, actualmente llamado Mejor Niñez, es el encargado de amparar los derechos de niñas/os. Este artículo corresponde a una revisión teórica, donde inicialmente se describe lo fundamental de SENAME (Mejor Niñez), sus lineamientos técnicos, perfil de usuarias/os, perfil de las familias, el proceso de intervención, plazos y acciones inespecíficas que deben realizar las/os trabajadores. Posteriormente, se describen algunos conceptos básicos del Enfoque Centrado en la Persona. Finalmente, se concluye que este enfoque puede contribuir a las intervenciones con niñas, niños, adolescentes y sus familias que son parte de SENAME, por lo tanto, sería un gran aporte si fuera considerado en los lineamientos técnicos de la institución. The National Service for Minors, currently called Better Childhood, is in charge of protecting children’s rights. This article is a theoretical review, where initially the fundamentals of SENAME (Better Childhood), its technical guidelines, user profile, family profile, the intervention process, deadlines, and the unspecific actions to be carried out by the workers are described. Then, some basic concepts of the Person- Centered Approach are described. Finally, it is concluded that this approach can contribute to interventions with children, adolescents and their families who are part of SENAME, therefore, it would be a great contribution if it were considered in the technical guidelines of the institution
