The author covers the events and episodes that form a United States prior to September 11, whose government, in the historic words of Martin Luther King, is "the world's largest supplier of violence", to which Chomsky adds that the equipment (industrial-banking-political-military) governing U.S. is the most powerful terrorist organization in world history. But for himself he lived the dream of a sleepwalking giant who dreamed to be God in the artificial paradise of technology and consumption. Beautiful dream, but unsustainable. September 11th that bursts the bubble in which the great somnambulist floated. The dream is awake. For better or for worse, we are all brothers and sisters need to wake up.El autor recorre los hechos y episodios que configuran a un Estados Unidos  previo a su 11 de septiembre, cuyo gobierno, en las palabras históricas de Luther King, es “el mayor proveedor mundial de violencia”, a lo que agrega  Chomsky que el aparato (industrial-bancario-político-militar) que gobierna EE.UU. es la más poderosa organización terrorista de la historia mundial. Pero para sí mismo vivía el sueño de un gigante sonámbulo que soñaba ser Dios en los paraísos artificiales de la tecnología y el consumo. Sueño hermoso, pero insostenible.  Ese 11de Septiembre revienta la burbuja en la que el gran sonámbulo flotaba. El sueño se hace vigilia. Para bien o para mal, todos somos hermanos y hermanas, y es necesario despertar.
