| dc.description | Este artículo aborda algunas de las tensiones entre el modelo de desarrollo económico que legítimamente promueven los Estados y el respeto de los derechos humanos en América Latina. Para ello se refiere al rol que el sistema interamericano de protección de derechos humanos ha tenido en este campo y a la forma en que ha enfrentado estas tensiones, en el marco de sus competencias. En particular, se revisan los principales casos en donde la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos ha otorgado medidas cautelares para proteger los derechos de miembros de comunidades indígenas y/o campesinas frente a los efectos de proyectos de infraestructura energética o de actividades extractivas. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This paper examines some of the tensions between the model of economic development that the States legitimately promote and the respect of human rights in Latin America. Accordingly, it refers to the role that the Inter-American Human Rights protection system has played in this filed and the way in which it has confronted those tensions. Particularly, it addresses the principal cases where the Inter-American Human Rights Commission has granted precautionary measures to protect indigenous and/or rural communities against the effects of projects related to energy infrastructure or extractive activities. | en-US |
