| dc.description | El catastro, o ‘contribución catastral’ fue la primera contribución directa y el primer impuesto chileno en gravar la renta, conforme a las leyes de bases legales de 18 de octubre de 1831, 23 de octubre de 1834 y 28 de enero de 1837. Nacida para reemplazar las alcabalas, se esperaba sirviera de base para aglutinar toda contribución sobre los productos de la tierra. Determinaba la base imponible de cada contribuyente a través de ‘catastros’ o ‘reparticiones’, operaciones a nivel nacional que establecían la renta anual de todos los contribuyentes para un año, sirviendo dicho monto como base del impuesto hasta el siguiente repartimiento, aplicándose una tasa de un 3%. Nunca funcionó como se esperaba. Por problemas en su recaudación, se fusionó con el Impuesto Territorial por ley de 7 de septiembre de 1860, creando el Impuesto Agrícola. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The cadastre, or “cadastral contribution” was the first direct contribution and the first Chilean tax to tax the rent, according to the laws of legal bases of October 18, 1831, October 23, 1834 and January 28, 1837. Born to replace the alcabalas, it was hoped that it would serve as the basis for agglutinating any contribution on the products of the land. It determined the taxable base of each taxpayer through ‘cadastres’ or ‘repartimientos’, operations at national level that established the annual income of all taxpayers for a year, serving this amount as the tax base until the next repartimiento, applying a tax of 3%.
