The author treats on the influence of the Canon law in the civil law, due to the factual survival of the Patronage, referred to the situation in which the canonical norm becomes an instrument of intelligibility of the respective article of the Civil Code. The cases in which this happens in the Civil Code of Chile are not scarce, and an example of it is the incapacity of inheritance and bequest of the last confessor, in which a direct bridge among the Novísima Recopilación (1805) and the Civil Code (1855) is clearly detected.El autor trata de la influencia de la ley canónica en el derecho civil, en razón de la supervivencia fáctica del Patronato, referida a la situación en que la norma canónica llega a ser un instrumento de inteligibilidad del artículo respectivo del Código Civil. Los casos en que esto sucede en el Código Civil de Chile no son escasos, como lo ejemplifica la incapacidad de herencia y legado del último confesor, en que un puente directo entre el Novísima Recopilación (1805) y el Código Civil (1855) es discernido claramente.
