dc.descriptionEn el contexto de la recuperación económica de la década de 1940 en Chile, la industria carbonífera ensayó nuevas formas de habitación. El agotamiento del modelo de ciudad industrial, que imponía un sistema habitacional reducido a pabellones con servicios higiénicos mínimos, fue reemplazado por edificios que ensayaban nuevas ideas arquitectónicas. Esta vez la respuesta fue probada en grandes dimensiones, incorporando nuevos objetivos sociales.es-ES
dc.descriptionWithin the context of economic recovery in the 1940s in Chile, the coalmining industry tried out new forms of housing. The worn-out model of the industrial city that imposed a housing system reduced to repeated blocks with minimal sanitary installations was replaced by buildings that tested out new architectural ideas. This time the solution was tested on a large scale, incorporating new social objectives.en-US
