Goethe- padre la protofenomenologia, eslabón perdido de la fenomenología y genio tutelar de esta investigaciónafirmaba que "las hipótesis no son sino canciones de cuna con las cuales el profesor envía a sus alumnos a dormir." (Del Solar, 1993). En efecto, para Goethe lo gravitante en ciencia fue siempre, por sobre todo, el establecimiento de un lazo reverente y contemplativo con un objeto de estudio claramente diferenciado. Por esta vía- que al tiempo que erradica toda especulación, hace de la hipótesis un instrumento de investigación relativamente redundante- Goethe inauguró la ciencia de los fenómenos primordiales o de los protofenómenos, logro cuyas profundas consecuencias recién comienzan a ser cabal y objetivamente evaluadas por el establishment científico moderno.Goethe – father of protophenomenology, phenomenology’s missing link and tutelary genius of this research– believed that “hypotheses are lullabies with which the teacher soothes his pupils to sleep”. (Del Solar, 1993). Indeed, for Goethe the key issue in science was always, above all, the establishment of a reverent and contemplative relationship with a clearly differentiated object of study. Taking this route – which as well as eliminating all speculation turns the hypothesis into a relatively redundant research tool – Goethe inaugurated the science of primordial phenomena or protophenomena, an achievement the profound consequences of which are only recently being fully and objectively assessed by the modern scientific establishment.
