| dc.description | The reconstruction of Concepción following the earthquake on 27th February, 2010, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Concepción Masterplan. With all its ups and downs, this document guided the city’s urban policy from the 1960 earthquake up until 1980. To commemorate the anniversary and contribute to the debate on the future masterplan, it seems opportune to provide a record of the way the 1960 masterplan was studied and drawn up, the regional and global concerns taken into consideration, the main urban, architectural and landscaping design decisions, economic and transport intentions; as well as the concretion of these ideas into management systems and specific regulations. But above all, it presents an opportune moment to emphasise the social and architectural focus of the planning decisions undertaken. | en-US |
| dc.description | La reconstrucción de Concepción tras el terremoto del 27/02/2010 coincide con los 50 años del Plan Regulador de Concepción de 1960, del que fui coautor con Emilio Duhart. Con altibajos, este documento guió el urbanismo penquista tras el terremoto de 1960 a 1980. Para rememorar el aniversario y contribuir al debate sobre el futuro Plan Regulador, parece oportuno dejar constancia del modo en que se estudió y redactó el citado plan, de las consideraciones regionales y mundiales sopesadas, de las principales decisiones de diseño urbano, arquitectónico y paisajístico, de sus intenciones económicas y viales; así como de la concreción de estas ideas en sistemas de gestión y normas específicas. Pero, sobre todo, entendemos oportuno insistir en el enfoque social y arquitectónico de la planificación acometida. | es-ES |
