| dc.description | Este artículo, mediante el análisis de la prensa chilena durante los meses anteriores y posteriores al ataque japonés en Pearl Harbor (1941), da luces acerca de cómo se percibía lo japonés, identificando cambios y continuidades. Así mismo, resulta importante comprender los diferentes mecanismos de diplomacia pública desplegados por el Japón durante el periodo, en el cual hubo nutridos intercambios entre ambos países. Si bien las posturas son diversas, es posible vislumbrar un cambio en ciertas nociones, pero manteniendo la visión de un país moderno y que en ciertos puntos compartía muchos elementos con Chile. De esta manera, se emplaza a Chile dentro de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, problematizando el papel que la opinión pública jugó, en relación con una de las potencias del Eje, dentro de la política local. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This article, through the analysis of the Chilean press during the months before and after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, sheds light on how Japanese was perceived, identifying changes and continuities. Likewise, it is important to understand the different mechanisms of Public Diplomacy deployed by Japan during the period, during which there were nourished exchanges between the two countries. Although the positions are diverse, it is possible to glimpse a change in certain notions, but maintaining the vision of a modern country and that in certain points shared many elements with Chile. In this way, it is also inserts Chile within the Second World War, problematizing the role that public opinion played, in relation to one of the Axis powers, within the politics of this country. | en-US |
