This article inquires into the participation of women in the armed struggle against the dictatorship. All this, based on the presence of militant women linked to MIR and FPMR who appear in the press, specifically, in the newspaper La Tercera de la hora between 1978 and 1989, showing the way in which they are presented to the public opinion. We establish that in more than 200 pieces of news, women appeared related to different types of propaganda actions being either operative or logistical which in accordance to the bias of the main source, they were contrasted with primary and secondary data sources, court decisions and opposition press to confirm the women’s militant condition and the circumstances of their arrest or death.Este artículo indaga sobre la participación de la mujer en la lucha armada a la dictadura a partir de la presencia de las militantes vinculadas al MIR y FPMR aparecidas en la prensa, específicamente en el periódico La Tercera de la hora entre 1978 y 1989, estableciendo el modo en que son presentadas a la opinión pública. Constatamos que, en más de 200 noticias, las mujeres emergen relacionadas con diversos tipos de acciones propagandísticas, operativas o logísticas que, en virtud de la parcialidad de la fuente principal, fueron contrastadas con otras fuentes primarias y secundarias, fallos judiciales y prensa opositora para confirmar su militancia y las circunstancias de su detención o muerte.
