| dc.description | The purpose of this paper is to describe the evolution of some extra-regional ties in Latin America under highly asymmetric conditions, particularly during the boom and decline of the primacy of the United States and how this evolution is reflected in some key areas such as politics, trade and defense. The article is structured in the following chapters: the first provides a theoretical-methodological frame of reference; the second provides a synopsis of historical ties during the primacy of Europe. The third examines the transformation of the United States from Colony to Great Power and its effect on Spanish America. The conclusion of the article confirms the hypothesis that Latin America as a marginal international system has evolved towards a more autonomous system. | en-US |
| dc.description | El propósito del presente artículo es describir la evolución de algunas vinculaciones extrarregionales de América Latina en condiciones muy asimétricas, en particular, durante el auge y la crisis de la primacía de Estados Unidos y de qué modo se refleja esta evolución en algunas áreas claves como la política, el comercio y la defensa. El artículo se estructura en los siguientes capítulos: el primero proporciona un marco de referencia teórico-metodológico; el segundo entrega una sinopsis de las vinculaciones históricas durante la primacía de Europa. En tercer lugar, se examina la transformación de Colonia a Gran Potencia de los Estados Unidos y su efecto en Hispanoamérica. La conclusión del artículo constata la hipótesis que América Latina como un sistema internacional marginal ha evolucionado hacia un sistema más autónomo. | es-ES |
