The transition from a world shaped by the relations between sovereign states to another characterized by the strengthening of transnational relations between the multiple segments that the different national societies present, probably constitutes the central tendency of the contemporary international system. In this paper, some considerations are formulated that could be useful to advance within the perspectives raised on this matter, based on three hypotheses: 1) the post-war international system is being replaced by another in which the concepts of interdependence and welfare predominate; 2) the crisis of industrial societies and the world economy as a whole strengthened the previous trend towards a recent interdependence, and 3) this process of transnationalization is profoundly altering the international relations of developing countries.La transición de un mundo configurado por las relaciones entre estados soberanos a otro caracterizado por el fortalecimiento de las relaciones transnacionales entre los múltiples segmentos que presentan las distintas sociedades nacionales, constituye probablemente la tendencia central del sistema internacional contemporáneo. En este trabajo se formulan algunas consideraciones que podrían ser de utilidad para avanzar dentro de las perspectivas planteadas sobre esta materia, a partir de tres hipótesis: 1) el sistema internacional de la postguerra está siendo reemplazado por otro en el que predominan los conceptos de interdependencia y bienestar; 2) la crisis de las sociedades industriales y de la economía mundial en su conjunto fortaleció la tendencia previa hacia una reciente interdependencia, y 3) ese proceso de transnacionalización está alterando profundamente las relaciones internacionales de los países en desarrollo.
