| dc.description | La estructura económica internacional de la primera generación de postguerra evidentemente se ha disipado. El orden anterior se derrumbó a causa de los cambios esenciales que se realizaron en sus premisas fundamentales. El cambio económico más importante que afecta las relaciones internacionales es el predominio de la inflación como el principal problema económico (y quizás político) de casi todos los países industriales. Los problemas económicos están elevándose en todas partes hacia la cima de los programas de política exterior. Una tensión entre los esfuerzos para combatir la inflación y promover la seguridad económica constituirá entonces un factor importante en las relaciones económicas internacionales en los próximos años. Se consideran acá las inferencias que tendrá el nuevo ambiente para los intereses de Estados Unidos en Latinoamérica, para Latinoamérica misma y para las relaciones entre ambos, y cuál será la posición y objetivos de la región en este enfrentamiento. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The international economic structure of the first postwar generation has evidently dissipated. The previous order collapsed because of the essential changes that were made in its fundamental premises. The most important economic change affecting international relations is the prevalence of inflation as the main economic (and perhaps political) problem of almost all industrial countries. Economic problems are everywhere rising to the top of foreign policy agendas. A tension between efforts to combat inflation and promote economic security will thus constitute an important factor in international economic relations in the years to come. The inferences that the new environment will have for the interests of the United States in Latin America, for Latin America itself and for the relations between the two are considered here, and what will be the position and objectives of the region in this confrontation. | en-US |
